My primary service is private lessons. I give private and semi-private lessons both in person and online. I also offer opening lessons- this will usually involve a set number of lessons and not an ongoing teacher-student relationship, all geared on learning the variations and nuances of a specific opening, and I will send all of my preparation files in this opening to the client. I am quite knowledgeable in a wide variety of openings, including some new ideas and novelties. In an online lesson, a student and I will call each other via Skype (a free online phone system) while simultaneously examining a game on the Internet Chess Club (ICC), so when one of us makes a move it instantly shows up on the other’s computer screen. Because my rates are a bit steep for most people in today’s economy, for private lessons I offer one free hour to show the client what they are getting for their money, and there is no obligation to continue after this one free hour. I am available to teach camps and group lessons and give simultaneous exhibitions as well.

Private lessons in person$60/hour, first hour is free
Private lessons online$50/hour, first hour is free
Group lessons (2-4 people) in person$100/hour
Group lessons (2-4 people) online$85/hour

Opening Lessons$60/hour in person and $50/hour online, and student will recieve a copy of my analysis on the line instead of the free hour. For further information about which openings will be covered, please contact me personally
Annotated Games in Chess Base Format$30/game ($125 for five games)

Cancellations: I go by the 24 hour rule. If you wish to reschedule or cancel a lesson, you must inform me at least 24 hours before the lesson is to take place or I will charge you for it anyway, no matter now many hours it is. However, unlike most coaches, I offer a flipside. If I am the one to cancel a lesson without 24 hours notice, of course you will not pay for it but I also will offer to reschedule it, the same amount of hours, this time free of charge.

Refunds: Again, this goes by the 24 hour rule. You may ask for a refund for a previous lesson for up to 24 hours after the lesson is over, and I will grant it with no questions asked. Please note that asking for a refund will end our teaching relationship.
